THE PRACTICAL DETAILS
Sunseeker 76 ownership.
Your questions, answered.
Fractional yacht ownership costs, scheduling, crew, guests, and resale aboard Moonlight.
Ownership & resale
Your share, the ownership structure, and the longer view.
You are purchasing a one-eighth membership interest in the Florida LLC that owns Moonlight, a 2021 Sunseeker 76. The current share price is $498,000. Each interest is intended to provide 4–5 owner weeks each year. Weeks beyond four are allocated on an availability basis. The annual cruising plan and scheduling procedures apply.
The yacht is owned by a Florida LLC, and each owner holds a membership interest in that company rather than direct title to the yacht. There are eight standard ownership interests, and an owner may hold more than one. The ownership documents set out the arrangements for each interest.
Co-ownership gives you a membership interest in the company that owns the yacht, annual usage rights, and a share of ongoing operating costs. Chartering provides access for a booked period without an ownership interest. The right choice depends on your expected use, expenses, and ownership responsibilities.
Yes. You can sell your share yourself without commissions, but you cannot engage a broker who is not authorized by the program. There is no minimum ownership period, and any new buyer must meet the program's admission requirements. Resales can also be coordinated through the program, with any applicable commission and marketing terms confirmed in advance. Resale timing and value are not guaranteed.
Review the purchase, co-ownership, management, and usage documents, together with the current budget, scheduling arrangements, vessel condition, and share availability. If financing is involved, review the separate financing agreement as well. The team can help you obtain the current information before you decide.
Costs & trip expenses
Shared running costs, trip expenses, and how they are accounted for.
The current estimate for shared operating costs is approximately $6,950 per month per owner. Regular operating contributions are paid monthly against the annual operating budget. Actual costs can vary, and individual trip expenses are separate. Any management fee and additional funding arrangements are confirmed in the program documents.
The annual operating budget covers the ongoing ownership and care of the yacht, including crew, insurance, maintenance, administration, and approved reserve funding. Expenses for your individual trips are handled separately through APA. The current budget and management arrangements set out the allocation of costs.
Yes. Necessary repairs or other authorized yacht expenses may require additional contributions if available funds, reserves, and insurance proceeds are insufficient. These costs are shared according to ownership interests unless an expense belongs to a particular owner. The regular operating estimate is not a fixed cap on costs.
APA means Advance Provisioning Allowance: money advanced to cover the expenses of your trip. These can include food, beverages, fuel, transient dockage, utilities, communications, permits, customs charges, taxes, and requested repositioning. After the trip, the advance is reconciled to actual expenses and any remaining balance is returned or credited after amounts due are paid.
The APA is estimated for your itinerary and anticipated expenses, rather than set at one fixed deposit for every trip. Management or the captain will confirm the required advance, and additional funds may be requested during the trip if needed. The advance is reconciled to actual costs.
Any approved management fee and its payment arrangements are set out in the management arrangements and annual operating budget. Ask the team for the current fee and how it is billed when reviewing the ownership documents.
An engine-hour allowance is allocated to your trip and can be used across that trip. Excessive use beyond this allowance is currently charged at $500 per hour to help offset additional maintenance costs. Fuel and other trip expenses are separate. Any different allowance for an approved transit trip is confirmed in advance.
Owners and guests do not tip crew members individually. Owners may agree on group crew bonuses based on service and performance, with any approved bonus administered through the program.
Owners receive quarterly operating statements comparing budgeted and actual costs and showing the operating account and reserve balances. An annual account of material receipts and spending is also provided, with supporting information available for material items.
Your weeks & destinations
Planning your time aboard through the seasons.
A one-eighth interest is intended to provide 4–5 owner weeks each year. Weeks beyond four are allocated on an availability basis. The exact allocation is set through the annual scheduling procedures and takes account of the cruising plan, maintenance, and repositioning. Management coordinates the calendar and practical trip arrangements.
Management coordinates requests under the program's annual scheduling procedures. Weeks beyond four are allocated on an availability basis. Those procedures set the selection order, booking windows, holiday allocation, exchanges, and other booking arrangements. Specific dates depend on availability, the yacht's seasonal location, and operational requirements; particular holiday weeks or dates are not guaranteed.
The seasonal plan places Moonlight in Miami and South Florida from November through January, Nassau and the Bahamas from February through May, and New York and New England from July through September. June and October are planned maintenance and repositioning months. Exact dates and routes may change for weather, safety, maintenance, and other operational needs.
Selected repositioning or Intracoastal trips may be offered when they fit the cruising plan and operational schedule. Any special itinerary and engine-hour allowance are confirmed before the trip. Unless the program confirms otherwise, these trips count toward your annual usage allocation and you remain responsible for your trip expenses.
The map shows selected ideas. Other destinations along the Florida coast, across the Bahamas, and around New York and New England may be possible within the seasonal schedule and the captain's planning. Map connections illustrate destinations, not navigation routes or a confirmed itinerary.
A voluntary cancellation or unused part of a confirmed week does not automatically entitle you to a refund, replacement time, or compensation. How weeks affected by yacht unavailability, safety decisions, or other operational issues are handled follows the program's scheduling procedures. Ask the team to confirm the arrangements when booking.
No. Ownership weeks are for private use. Owners and guests cannot charter, rent, sublet, barter, or sell use of the yacht or receive payment for someone else to use a week.
Guests, crew & life aboard
The people and practical details behind your time on the water.
Moonlight has four guest cabins and four heads, with owner trips planned for up to eight people including the owner. The captain confirms the permitted number aboard within the yacht's legal, insurance, and operational limits. Crew accommodation is separate.
The current operating program includes a captain and stewardess. Management arranges qualified crew for the intended trip, and additional crew may be needed for particular operational requirements. The captain has final authority over navigation, weather, safety, and the yacht's immediate operation.
Professional yacht management coordinates crew, maintenance, vendors, marina logistics, provisioning support, owner communications, and implementation of the cruising plan. Management also prepares the yacht for trips and coordinates the booking arrangements.
Guest use without the owner present requires prior program approval and written acceptance of the applicable use rules. Check with management before making arrangements.
Pets require prior written approval from both management and the captain for the particular animal and trip. Please ask before including a pet in your plans.
Smoking and vaping are allowed only in outdoor areas specifically designated by the captain. They are not permitted inside the yacht or in any area the captain considers unsuitable for safety, comfort, or insurance reasons.
Send an inquiry through the contact form to ask about current availability, ownership documents, the current budget, or a viewing. The Moonlight team will follow up to discuss your interests and arrange next steps. A viewing is confirmed directly with the team.
